Holding Christ-focused sacrament meetings has been a key focus of the bishopric.
Focus on the Ordinance
- Train Aaronic Priesthood holders on administration of the sacrament (last training: January)
- After sacrament is passed, conducting bishopric member asks if anyone was missed
Meeting Structure
- Fast & testimony: Conducting member bears Christ-centered testimony, emphasizes brief testimonies centered on the Savior
- Other weeks: One short testimony, one youth talk, one musical number, one adult talk
- Quarterly invitation letters sent with instructions to relate remarks back to the Atonement
- Resources provided on how to prepare talks
Home-Centered, Church-Supported Gospel Learning
We follow the church's curriculum of Come, Follow Me as the basis for our sacrament meeting topics and second hour classes.
In interviews, the bishopric emphasizes the importance of Come, Follow Me for individual gospel study, as well as family gospel learning.
Children & Youth Program
In early February we held a combined activity for all youth (parents invited as well) where we discussed:
- 2025 Church Youth Theme
- For the Strength of Youth
- The Youth Guidebook
- Emblems of belonging presented by class and quorum presidencies
We will make this meeting an annual tradition.
Organization Highlights
- Primary: Excellent job building activities using Children and Youth program. Primary Activities help children set and work towards goals.
- Young Women: Excellent job helping girls set goals. Many mutual activities based on young women's goals.
- Young Men: Committed to using youth goals as part of planning processes.
Temple Recommend Interviews: When interviewing youth for limited-use temple recommends, we provide a copy of For the Strength of Youth and use pages 36-37 as the interview questions.
